With a lot of help from my students, tribal historians, and local historical societies I am building an archive/online anthology of writing by Native people from New England, which you can check out here.
The idea of bringing this anthology online is twofold: to help represent Native voices in cyberspace; and to create a living document, open to constant addition, revision, and comment. To that end, we absolutely welcome input and participation–and are using the Omeka platform precisely because it is free and easy to use. Teachers: consider having your students curate a regional Native literary work for our collection. Archivists and historians: you can upload your materials directly. Writers: create a web presence for yourself here (this website will include living authors as well as historic texts).
